Woodlands Cafe employees use a MICROS 3700 point-of-sale (POS) system to capture their time, job transfers and tip information. Every pay period, café managers were tasked with evaluating the employee time to calculate overtime, and then manually entering hours and tip data from MICROS into the payroll system. This required significant time each pay period and kept the managers in the back office instead of focusing on their customers.
Error-Free, Hassle-Free Employee Data Transfer
IDI and our partner consulted with Woodlands to understand their business and technical issues and provide an integrated solution to automate their pay policies. Based on Woodlands’ business needs, we recommended implementing our partner’s time-and-attendance system and IDI’s Time Bank™ integration solution. The timekeeping system was configured to ensure compliance, enforce overtime rules, provide comprehensive labor reports and integrate with payroll. Time Bank integrated the MICROS 3700 POS system with the timekeeping system to enable automated error-free data transfer, without any hassle.
The combined solution automated and simplified the entire time management and payroll process. Time Bank reads data directly from the MICROS database. It processes the employee start/stop time details and tip earnings, then applies Woodlands’ specific mapping rules and formatting logic. Results are seamlessly uploaded into the time-and-attendance system on a frequent, scheduled basis.
Managers review their team’s results in the time-and-attendance system, and the data is uploaded to payroll for processing. With this automated process, store managers eliminated the risk of incorrectly determining overtime eligibility and ended the time-consuming data entry. The hours spent on time on time entry tasks are now being used to focus on customers.
Time Bank Brings Managers Back to the Front
The integrated solution is supported by IDI and our partner. Woodlands Market receives free upgrades anytime their payroll or MICROS versions change.
